What Makes a Good Fit
Think of our site as a series of deep-dive conversations. We publish guides and essays that help people understand something complex or do something better.
A good pitch for us answers “yes” to these questions:
- Is this something only you could write? Does it come from your specific expertise, experience, or research?
- Will our reader finish it feeling smarter? Does it provide clear, actionable value or a genuinely new perspective?
- Does it sound like us? Is the tone thoughtful, clear, and aimed at an intelligent adult?
How to Pitch Us (The Only Way We’ll Read It)
Avoid writing the article initially. Do not attach any drafts. Do not send a Google Doc.
The only thing we want first is a short, compelling pitch sent by email.

What Goes in the Pitch Email
A pitch that gets opened, read, and seriously considered contains these three things, in this order:
- The Hook (1 sentence). The core idea. What are you offering? (Example: “A guide to protecting your creative work online, based on my 10 years in digital copyright law.”)
- The Reason (2-3 sentences). Why does this matter to our audience right now? What issue does it address? What question does it answer that they’re actually asking?
- The Proof (You). A brief, relevant bio. Who are you, and why are you the right person to write this? Include one link to your best published work or professional profile.
That’s it. No flattery. No life story. Just the idea and your credibility.
The Rules (Yes, They Are Firm)
- Original & Exclusive. You write it for us and only us. It must be 100% original and unpublished anywhere else, including your own blog.
- No Promotion. This is not a platform to showcase your product, service, or company. The article must stand on its own value. Any mention of your own work must be strictly non-promotional and contextually necessary.
- We Edit. If accepted, we will edit your work for clarity, tone, and fit. You will approve the final version for factual accuracy, but editorial judgment is ours.
What Not to Do (The Instant Rejection List)
- Pitch a topic we’ve just covered.
- Send a generic “10 Ways to…” listicle.
- Use a mail-merge greeting like “Hi Blog Owner.”
- Ask for our “guest post guidelines” (they are literally what you’re reading right now).
- Pitch an idea that’s really just a veiled advertisement.
